The Summit is organized by MDP in
collaboration with the Nairobi City Council, the
Association of Local Government Authorities of Kenya (ALGAK)
and the Government of Kenya.
Africities institutions are :
 The
Political Committee
The Political Committee is made up of the Executive
Bureau of UCLGA. The Political Committee approves the
structure and the theme of the Summit, and its budget;
chooses the host city, and gives the general orientations
for the preparation and conduct of the Summit. The members

The
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is composed of the Mayor of the
host city of the Summit (Mayor of the City of Nairobi),
that chairs it, the UCLGA Secretary General, the Chairman
of the National Association of Local Authorities (ALGAK
Chairman), the representative of the central government of
the host country (the Permanent Secretary
of the Kenyan Ministry of Local Governments), as well as
the directors of the regional MDP offices.
It
is in charge of translating into actions the orientations
given by the Political Committee and of supervising the
material and scientific preparation of the Summit.
The
Operational Committee
The
Operational Committee comprises a representative of each
of the MDP regional offices, the representative of the
Mayor of the host city, the representative of the National
Association of Local Governments of the host country. The
Operational Committee is in charge of the implementation
of the decisions of the Executive Committee and of the
effective realization of all the actions which are
necessary for the success of the organization of the
Summit.
